Flight to Singapore

Finally managed to get on a WiFi connection for the first time since my last update, so there's a fair bit to catch up on!

The flight from Heathrow ended up leaving an hour late due to the plane arriving late from a previous flight. Luckily we had plenty of time in hand before our connecting flight would leave Dubai for Singapore.

The Emirates A380 Airbus was very comfortable, as expected. With it being such a huge plane, every move it made was almost imperceptible; as it got up to speed on the runway to take off, it was so smooth that it felt like it wasn't going fast enough to leave the ground! Suddenly however, without so much as a jolt, it quietly got airbourne in a way that you had to look out of the window to confirm it had happened!

Emirates have put lots of entertainment on their planes - too many on demand movies, games and movies to count and my personal favourite, access to external cameras on the nose, tail and belly of the aircraft to allow you to see what's going on outside! Inside, the windows were panelled in 1990s Rover-style faux walnut panelling and the ceiling had little LEDs that lit up like a starfield when the plane was in night mode. The food was also very good by airline standards!

We made up about 30 minutes of our hour deficit by the time we arrived in Dubai, so our transfer was very relaxed. We were a touch late leaving Dubai, but ultimately arrived in Singapore on time
